Heritage Audit
In July 2008 Gloucester Heritage URC commissioned Alan Baxter & Associates LLP to produce an independant assessment of its performance against the baseline position in 2004.
The aim of the audit being:
- to assess the extent to which 'heritage led regeneration' has been sucessfully realised
- to assess the extent to which listed buildings, conservation areas and archaeology is percieved as useful stimuli for regeneration
- to identify areas of actual or potential weakness or conflicts between heritage led regeneration or other priorities and suggest solutions
- to assess whether the target of the repair of listed buildings is an appropriate measure of the Gloucester Heritage URC's success in heritage led regeneration
- to review whether the area Characterisation Studies are proving useful tools to learning and its application to wider dissemination
