Ambassador Programme

Through its Community Ambassador programme, Gloucester Heritage URC ensures that local people are involved in the developments and have the opportunity to comment on the regeneration plans as they unfold.

Each of the ‘Magnificent Seven’ sites leading the city’s regeneration has a Community Ambassador who provides a vital link into their communities, allowing the views and opinions of local people to be heard at Board level and helping build stronger relationships between the city businesses, residents and Gloucester Heritage URC.

What does a Community Ambassador do?

  1. Encourages good connections within their local community
  2. Act as the ambassador for the community within the Gloucester Heritage URC
  3. Help the Gloucester Heritage URC produce a local Community Engagement Plan specific to their regeneration area

Community Ambassadors are selected for their local knowledge of the community and areas represented.  Each ambassador is supported by the Community Engagement Manager

GHURC’s Community Engagement Manager has continued to work with each Ambassador to increase links with the Magnificent 7 area communities. Ambassadors are looking to increase their profile within their areas to ensure effective representation at Steering Group meetings.

A comprehensive review of the Community Ambassadors programme is underway with recommendations for improvements/changes to the Residents & Community Forum in September 2010
