Four-day event to showcase Gloucester’s future
Everything is now ready for the first, ever Future of the City event being held over four days at Blackfriars Priory in Gloucester from 30 April – 3rd May.

The event, being organised by Gloucester Heritage Urban Regeneration Company, kicks off on Wednesday and Thursday this week when secondary schools from across  Gloucester visit Blackfriars Priory to discover what their city will look like in the future.

On Friday and Saturday, from 12 – 4pm, everyone is invited to come to this free event to see for themselves how the city’s regeneration is starting to have an impact on their lives.

Visitors can talk to the developers, see the up to date designs of what is planned as well as finding out how they can benefit from the new jobs, opportunities and homes which are planned.

Throughout the event, there will also be entertainment, including living history actors, circus skills troupes and music, bringing the event to life.

Pupils from schools across the city will be exhibiting their artwork on what they think the City will look like in 2016, when the regeneration is completed.

Over 30 organisations, including both local community groups and national developers, will be exhibiting at the event.

On Friday evening, 2nd May, local businesses and those interested in the on-going City regeneration are invited to hear progress presentations from key GHURC board members and other stakeholders.
