Kings Quarter - Redevlopment Masterplan

Rebuilding the retail heart of Gloucester.

Kings Quarter

An emerging masterplan to guide the redevelopment of Kings Quarter, the area of Gloucester City Centre which includes Kings Square, Kings Walk shopping centre and adjoining streets and public spaces, is now taking shape.

Thornfield Properties in partnership with Morley Fund Management (part of Aviva insurance), is working Gloucester City Council and Gloucester Heritage Urban Regeneration Company (GHURC) to develop proposals for Kings Quarter, which identify areas for regeneration and highlight improvements that can be made to existing roads, buildings and public spaces.

Information included in the related links panel was on display at community information displays in late April. The detailed proposals are some way off, but the emerging concept ideas highlight how we may improve Kings Square and surrounding areas so they are popular places to shop and visit for many years to come.

After hearing the views of local people, the masterplan is likely to be approved by Gloucester City Council later this summer. Further public consultation will then take place before a planning application, showing detailed development plans, is submitted for approval next year.

For further information on any aspect of the proposals please contact Emily Annable
