Blackfriars Priory will become a
major new cultural centre and
tourist attraction at the heart of
a thriving retail and leisure quarter.
A new square, overlooked by a
flagship hotel, cafés, bars and
speciality shopping, will link
through to new offices and
apartments fronting the
River Severn.
Gloucester Docks
The office based development
of Southgate Moorings and the
upgrading of the Dry Docks
area as a major new gateway to
the city, providing additional car
parking, shops and office space,
will complete the regeneration of
Gloucester Docks.
Canal Corridor
The Canal Corridor is a highly
strategic gateway that provides
several important large scale
employment opportunities for
new and relocating businesses.
Attractive and extensive canal-side
residential developments will
also contain a range of
affordable housing.
Gloucester Quays
The massive £200m Gloucester
Quays scheme has outline planning
permission for major mixed use
retail, leisure and canal-side
residential developments, including
a large Designer Outlet Centre.
Kings Quarter
An international design
competition will launch the
transformation of Kings Square
and create a new continental-style
piazza that will be the focal point of
an area-wide development that will
dramatically improve Gloucester’s
shopping offer.
Greyfriars
A residential neighbourhood of
over four hundred new houses,
flats and apartments will bring
life and activity back into the city
centre. Relaxing new open spaces
will be developed around the ruins
of Greyfriars Priory and connect to
Southgate Street and the Eastgate
Shopping Centre.
Railway Triangle
The redevelopment of this key area of the city, next to Eastern Avenue and Metz Way, provides scope and major opportunities for employment
including the option of an Innovation and Science Park.
